WISEST Summer Reseach Program
WISEST focuses on creating effective programs to empower women and other underrepresented groups to pursue, impact, and succeed in the fields of science, engineering, and technology.
Participants work as paid research assistants on a project in an area that is less-traditional for their gender for six weeks in July and August.
Participation in this program helps students broaden their awareness of career opportunities and encourages them to explore a future in science, engineering and technology fields.
For those not willing to make that large a commitment (yet), you can choose to attend the SET conference held at the U of A (in Edmonton) every November.
